My first sifu Mr. Zhou Mingde, born in 1915, graduated from Martial Arts School in Shandong province in 30s last century. He was a doyen in Chinese Martial Arts circles, and bosom friend of GM Li Tianji, GM Cai Yunlong. And he was the founder of Duck School. Every one know that the illuminative teacher is very important for student. Mr. Zhou was expert at teaching, he was a professor in 60s last century. For his students he taught in three sides: the Basic Skills, the Long Boxing, Tai Chi competition forms. Today after 30 years I have understood that my first sifu gave me a very solid foundation. Now his son Mr. Zhou Yuxiang is also my Tai Chi brother, the chairman of Changchun Tai Chi Association. The photos show you the mien of my first sifu Zhou in 70s last century and me at those days.
